Sometimes I feel that the books I am reading become my best friends but then when I find another best friend I throw away my other best friend to like it, but it should be the other way round. if you have no idea what I am talking about just skip the talking I did in the start.
BOOKS THAT MADE ME UGLY CRY
1. Goodbye days by Jeff Zentner. (skip to the italic font ) This book is about a boy named carver Briggs he sent a text message that said and I quote “where are you guys?” right before mars, Eli and Blake were all killed in a car accident. carver couldn’t stop blaming himself and even if he wanted to believe that he didn’t kill his three best friends he wouldn’t be able to since Eli’s twin sister was after carver all the way, Carver felt really hurt by that because they used to be friends but now she is blaming him. Mars’s father who is a judge is pressuring the district attorney to open a criminal investigation into Carver’s actions.
Thank god Carver had a friend with him from the funeral till the end which was Eli’s girlfriend, the only person to stand by him at school. carver went to Dr Mendez, his new therapist, and asked him if he could spend a goodbye day withBlake’s grandmother and he approved the only reason of the goodbye day was to share their memories and say a proper goodbye to his friend.
** spoiler alert **
This book literally will make you sad, happy and you will most definitely ugly cry. I loved the ‘plot’ of the book. I was very excited to know carvers’ character or (blade’s, Blake’s grandmother calls carver blade)
spoiler alert again
So the story starts when Carver sent a text message to Mars, “where are you guys text me back” the reason craver texted mars was he knew that he would reply the fastest amongst all of them. Mars had tried to reply but while he was texting back they crashed into a truck and all the three of them die. After the accident carver went to the three funerals of his best friends. Blake grandma nana Betsy was very kind a to carver even though he could’ve been the one who sort of killed her grandson, Elli’s parents were kinda angry but they end up having a ‘conversation’ about the accident and carver ends up having a panic attack, Mars father is a judge and he was the one to choose if they should let carver free or not and he let him free, but he had to pay for what he did so mars father decided he should have an end day with carver too!
The end days of the 3. The first one was for Blake, carver and nana Betsy went fishing and ate in the Waffle House, lini which I believe her name was asked where Blake was but nana Betsy didn’t wanna hurt her feeling so she said that he was busy so his best friend came. After that, she told carver that she was way too nice to them so she didn’t wanna break Lini’s heart.
The end day of Eli, Eli’s parents invited jesmyn too but Eli’s twin sister didn’t come since she and carver aren’t on good terms. They *threw Eli’s spirit into the ocean, and after that, his parents told jes and carver they were filing divorce. Once they were done from the ocean they all went to the bathroom so while they were in ,, Eli’s father told him he believed that carver really killed his son but he didn’t want to file anything. After that, he also ended up telling him she shouldn’t be hooking up with his dead son’s girlfriend and carver ended up having a panic attack in the bathroom
The end day of mars, oh my god this was one of the ones I didn’t really like so you should just read the book.
Carver had many panic attacks so his sister Georgia recommend him a therapist or physiatrist so he went to doctor Mendez. Jesmyn or Eli’s girlfriend or widowed girlfriend was there for carver she was even with him in his second panic attacks but once he decided to tell her the truth about what he really feels about him she stops talking to him for about two weeks.
2. being miss nobody, Rosalind hates her new secondary school. She’s the weird girl who doesn’t talk. The Mute-ant. And it’s easy to pick on someone who can’t fight back. So Rosalind starts a blog – Miss Nobody; a place to speak up, a place where she has a voice. But there’s a problem…
Is Miss Nobody becoming a bully herself?.
This was the second book I red after goodbye days and I felt the same for each one of the books. I felt really proud that I picked a book that actually made me cry, Just a quick spoiler is you will cry at the ending like a lot a lot. I loved how she made herself miss nobody and made a blog about bullies. I felt Rosalind I felt like her even though I don’t really relate to her. The character of her little brother Seb was actually amazing he was the most cutest and funniest one in the book, the reason you will cry is because of Seb
3. This is how it happened, When Genevieve Grace wakes up from a coma, she can’t remember the car crash that injured her and killed her boyfriend Dallas, a YouTube star who had just released his first album. Genevieve knows she was there, and that there was another driver, a man named Brad Freeman, who everyone assumes is guilty. But as she slowly pieces together the night of the accident, Genevieve is hit with a sickening sense of dread—that maybe she had something to do with what happened.
As the internet rages against Brad Freeman, condemning him in a brutal trial by social media, Genevieve escapes to her father’s house, where she can hide from reporters and spend the summer volunteering in beautiful Zion National Park. But she quickly realizes that she can’t run away from the accident, or the terrible aftermath of it all.
Incredibly thought-provoking and beautifully told, Paula Stokes’s story will compel readers to examine the consequences of making mistakes in a world where the internet is always watching… and judging.
Genevieve was tired so she asked Dallas her boyfriend to drive her home the next thing she knows she’s in the hospital and Dallas is dead and she was kind of the reason. The book was amazing I fell in love with Paula’s words. I loved the romance, the tension of the boy from the park and how they started it off as friends. I really felt devastated when Dallas died even though Paula didn’t write a lot about him I just referred him to xxxtentacion. To be honest i really loved the way how Genevieve stayed at her dad’s and his wife was really kind to her even though Genevieve used to hate her. Overall the book deserves a 5-star rating but the ending got me down so it’s a 4 overall.
I had alot of fun writing this, hope you enjoyed! bye:)
